About Me

IMG_5257I have had my blog up for a while and realized that its been a while since I updated my about me!

I started my Keto journey in 2013 ago when I desperately needed to get my life back. When depression basically becomes your life partner, there’s not much you can do. It takes hold and you’ve gotta fight like hell to get away. I stopped leaving the house; I ended friendships; I wanted nothing to do with anyone outside of my own bubble. Then one day I woke up a realized I wasn’t the same person anymore. I didn’t even recognize the person I had become. That’s when I knew I needed to make a change. Fast forward to the second year. I had been doing Keto on and off, just trying to get my barrings. Trial and error and all that jazz. Just kind of testing the waters to see where I was comfortable. It was always a success. But I would get too comfortable and let the pounds creep back up. After a visit with my doctor and the talk of gestational diabetes, my PCOS, increasing the dosage of my anti-depressants [for the 4th time] and my gluten allergy.. It was all a wake up call.. again..

Then after years of wanting and wishing, I was blessed with the opportunity to get a breast reduction. Struggling my whole life with DD’s on a 5’2 frame did wonders for my self esteem, as you can imagine. After consulting with my surgeon I told him that I wanted A’s. He of course laughed and said that wouldn’t be possible. At most he could give me C’s. Well that just wasn’t going to happen. I asked him what I could possibly do to get him to go smaller. He frankly said, you need to lose weight. And so, I did. I did keto for next 4 months before my scheduled surgery (I had to wait 4 months for my body to detox from being a smoker) I lost 45 pounds in those 4 months. And can happily tell you that I became the proud owner of size 34B breasts!!! It was the happiest moment of my life! haha.. Seriously!

I have since been back to keto since February 2015, and im here to tell you that I am never going back. I have dedicated my lifestyle to keto, to maintain my health and sanity. I can now tell you that my pcos symptoms are improving. I went my whole life having 2-3 periods a year, to now the last 7 months having normal, monthly ones. Which is amazing because we are currently trying to conceive. No more acid reflux, stomach issues due to gluten, IBS has improved dramatically, and all of my levels have improved. I can honestly say that Keto has given me my life back.

I have made so many amazing connections through my Instagram page and other social media platforms.  The friendships I have made, along with the support I continuously receive, keeps me going and keeps me motivated.  Earlier this year [2016] I started a Kickstarter campaign in order to get my dream of starting a business off the ground.  With some encouragement from my amazing friend [http://ketokarma.com/] I launched the campaign and it was a great success. My Srirachoy sauce has honestly played such a huge part in my journey.  Food is my passion, and this recipe has gotten me through so many cravings and has opened the door for so many new recipes. I am so fortunate to be able to follow this dream and bring this sauce to the rest of the low carb community.

I am always around to help with advice and support for anyone new to the keto or low carb lifestyle. I can be reached via Instagram at @lazy_keto or through my email at lazyketo@gmail.com

Aren’t small boobs the best!!? I knocked my DD’s down to B’s about 10 years ago. ( I TOTALLY relate to telling your DR you want A’s!! Ha ha!)
I was beside myself with glee!!
Then My head got in a bad place, I gained 40 lbs and gained boobs back.
I’ve been keto-ing for about a month and a half, am down about 10 lbs so far and am looking forward to having bee stings again!

    • Yay!! Haha yes!!!!! Small boobs is something that natural small boob girls take for granted haha if I could have a completely flat chest, I would be the happiest girl in the world!! Haha

I just discovered Instagram about a week ago and that’s where I stumbled upon your page and started following you. I love looking at your pics. You seem so silly, carefree and fun. After reading your bio, I realized that your past situation is exactly what I’m going through now. The depression, not wanting to leave my apartment and making excuses to not go places, so I could stay in my safe bubble. After gaining 50 pounds, I no longer recognize myself either. That’s why I’m trying Keto and looking to follow fellow keto dieter’s journeys, so that I might find some inspiration. I’m 2 weeks in and excited to see where this takes me. Keep doing what you do because you’re fun and inspiring to people like me.

    • Aw!! Hi Becky!!! You are so sweet! Thank you! That means so much to me. I still never get used to someone such kind things to me. It makes my heart so fuzzy. I really hope that you find solace in Keto the way that I have. It has been a dream come true for my life and depression. I still have the bad days, but I can also enjoy the good days a lot better now. I just know that you can do this too and get to where you want to be. I’m always around if you ever need help or someone to talk to. Depression is a crappy place. No reason to go there alone 🙂

I just came across your IG page a few days ago. I just started Keto last week and list 11 lb, but this week I’m up 4 😦 I’m really thirsty, and I am getting a cold, so I’m thinking I need to reduce some sodium and just get through this. My son was sick so I’m sure I’m getting it and no Keto flu. Anyway, I really like your personality and how weight loss hasn’t gone to your head, like some other IG favs I had to unfollow because they got cocky and just plain retarded. So thank you. I look forward to your posts!

I found your blog a couple weeks ago while searching easy keto recipes. The similarities between us is absolutely unreal! I also struggle with bipolar and depression, as well as recently diagnosed with a gluten allergy. I’ve gone back and forth on keto a few times and always had amazing results until I got too comfortable and slowly went back to my old habits. I’m dedicated this time!
Keep the posts coming 🙂 You’re def and inspiration.

What an inspiring story. I have struggled with insulin resistance all my life due to PCOS. I have been off and on Atkins/Keto (low carb) lifestyles several times in the last few years to keep my blood sugar levels under control. It goes great for a while, losing 30-40 pounds each time. It has been trial and error for me too. Thank you for sharing your story. Yours truly, Glinda

    • Thank you, Glinda! I love your name! .. yeah it always goes good for a while for me too and then just turns into a road block. Insulin resistance is such a pain!!!!!! To say the least!
